At Cusum Energy, we are proud to have supported Isiolo County in developing its County Energy Plan a milestone in advancing localized, data-driven, and sustainable energy planning in Kenya.
The County Energy Plan is part of a nationwide initiative aimed at enabling counties to take the lead in identifying their unique energy needs and opportunities.
Our Role in Isiolo
As the appointed technical advisor, Cusum Energy led the entire planning process in Isiolo County. Our team was responsible for:
-
Training local enumerators on energy data collection tools and methods
-
Coordinating county-wide data collection across households and institutions
-
Facilitating stakeholder engagements with government officials, community leaders, and private sector players
-
Supporting energy planning, analysis, and documentation of the final County Energy Plan
The result is a practical, well-informed plan that highlights priority energy needs and investment opportunities for
the county, with a strong focus on clean and renewable energy solutions.
Why This Plan Matters
The Isiolo County Energy Plan offers a structured pathway to guide energy-related decisions at the county level. It serves as a key resource for:
-
Government agencies seeking to align development goals with energy access
-
Development partners and NGOs aiming to implement impactful energy programs
-
Private sector players, especially in the solar and off-grid space, looking for investment-ready opportunities
By grounding energy planning in local realities, Isiolo is better positioned to attract funding, improve infrastructure, and enhance access to clean, affordable, and reliable energy for its residents.
